Midget LL # 2 - Carmeuse Lime, 2018-2019 (Ingersoll & District Minor Hockey)

Submitted by Mike Martineau The Carmeuse Lime Midget local league team needed a win to earn a spot in the B division semi-final. The visiting Port Dover Pirates, who came into Sunday’s final game of the season one point ahead of Ingersoll in the standings, needed at least a tie to advance. From the initial puck drop it was clear that both teams were hungry, ready to battle for the final playoff spot, prepared to “leave it all on the ice” as they say.

A short handed Carmeuse Lime LL#2 side did not have one of their better efforts last night as they took on the Simcoe Warriors and fell 4-0. Ingersoll only managed to make the game sheet in the third period when they took their only penalty of the game. 

The Carmeuse Lime Midget Local League team came up with a solid effort against the top team in the B Division Saturday evening at the Ingersoll arena.

Two goals by Caleb Clifford and an outstanding performance in net by Dawson Sharpe helped to propel the Carmeuse Lime LL#2 team past the visiting Paris Wolfpack 4-0.

It has been 16 days between games for the Carmeuse Lime Midget LL#2 team and signs of the layoff were evident in their first game back as they traveled to take on the Paris #3 Wolfpack. With players struggling to get over the boards and staying on their skates, players ending up in their own net and two assists for the Express goalie and defense on a Paris goal in the third period, the visitors managed to overcome the rust and battled back to earn a point in a 4-4 tie with the Wolfpack.
