01-09-2019 Express Come Up Short in 3-1 Loss to Coyotes
On Wednesday January 9th the Carmeuse Lime Midget local league team traveled to Burford to face off against the Coyotes.

The opening period featured end to end action and close calls at both ends. Newcomer Tyler Condotta had an impressive debut with the team, winning face offs, backchecking and forechecking effectively, creating chances with his skating and passing skills. The Coyotes opened the scoring with 2:18 remaining in the first. The Express almost pulled even seconds later when Lucas Heather pounced on a loose puck in the crease after the Burford goaltender had bobbled a Nolan Costa wrist shot.

Ingersoll started the second period with a man advantage, but failed to capitalize on the powerplay. Good hustle by Condotta continued to create opportunities for linemates Shaun Holt and Caleb Clifford as play continued.

The Coyotes carried a one goal lead into the final frame. Early in the period Condotta and Clifford broke in on a two on one but were stymied by the Burford goaltender. Feisty Clifford pursued the puck into the corner and fed a pass out to Condotta who tied the game with his first as a member of the Express.

Ingersoll netminder Dawson Sharpe came up with several good saves before the Coyotes managed to sneak one in behind him with seven minutes to play. Good hustle by Lucas Heather in the offensive zone forced a Burford defender into a holding penalty with just over three minutes remaining. On the ensuing powerplay Daniel Martineau was moved up to the forward line, his slick passing generated numerous chances for Clifford and Condotta, but the Express were not able to find the back of the net. Burford added an empty net goal to make the final score Burford 3 Ingersoll 1.
