01-12-2019 Ingersoll Defeats Paris In Chippy Affair
Submitted by Mike Martineau.

Three goals by Tyson Condotta and three assists by Caleb Clifford lifted the Carmeuse Lime Midget team to a 4-2 victory over the Wolfpack in Paris on Saturday January 12th. The win improved the team’s second half record to 2-1-1.

Ingersoll got on the board early when Clifford chased down a puck behind the Paris net and fed a pass out to Evan Wade, who lifted a nice backhander past the home team’s goaltender. Colin VanDyk also earned an assist on the play. With Luke White in the penalty box for cross checking, Dawson Sharpe turned away four shots, allowing the Express to hang on to their one goal lead. Later in the period, crafty centre Tyson Condotta potted a pair of powerplay goals to put the Express up by three. The Wolfpack were able to sneak one behind Dawson Sharpe before the end of the period.

In the second period Lucas Heather had a glorious scoring opportunity when he was left all alone in front of the Paris net, but Heather was unable to control the puck for a clear shot on goal. With three minutes left to play in the middle frame, a shot from the point by Avery Shrigley was tipped by Condotta, beating the Paris netminder and completing the hat trick for number seven.

Three minutes into the third period Paris crept to within two when Dawson Sharpe was beaten glove side by a wicked wrist shot. Things got a bit ugly as the game wound down, when certain Wolfpack players, realizing that they were not going to be able to beat the Express on the scoreboard, resorted to dirty play, taking a number of cheap penalties. In total, over 50 minutes in penalties were handed out during the match.
