February 4th ...
On February 4th the Ingersoll Express played their first game after an extended break against Plattsville Rage. The team came out determined in the first period and it payed off big time. Ingersoll was able to score first with a goal by Chase at 6:29. Ingersoll dominated the play throughout the entire first period. Ingersoll was able to net another goal at 4:06, going up 2-0. Two more quick Ingersoll goals were scored by Nick and Jake M with 3:40 and 3:09 left in the first. Ingersoll went into the second up 4 nil.
The second period was more of the same. The team was showing no signs of slowing down and played a tight 2nd period. Chase scored another quick goal for Ingersoll at 9:52. Ingersoll fought off a charging Rage team successfully killing off two penalties before the Rage scored at 3:37. You could feel how excited the team was going into the 3 period with a 5-1 lead.
The scoring continued into the 3rd period. Everyone was playing hard and contributing to the scoreboard. Chase started the scoring in the third with a nice goal at 13:35, followed by a goal by Rowan at 7:09. They kids didn’t stop there. Chase netted another goal with 4:54 left in the third followed by a sweet goal by Remy just one minute later. Jake Agee scored his first goal of the year after showing some great determination while on the ice. Chase was able to find the back of the net at 3:23. After a tough one on one play the Rage scored their second goal of the game. One final Ingersoll goal was scored with just over 1 minute left in the game ending the game with a 13-2 score. What a great confidence boost for our team that has been in every game this season but come up a just a bit short. Keep the train rolling Express!
