Silverstick - Express vs Tornadoes
Tonight, December 2nd, Ingersoll travelled to Ayr for the first game of their Silver Stick Tournament.

Tonight, December 2nd, Ingersoll travelled to Ayr for the first game of their Silver Stick Tournament.  Ingersoll came out fast and hard, hungry for a win.  The Express were doing an excellent job fighting along the boards which allowed Chase #11 to gain control of the puck and put us up by one within the first minute of the game.  Ingersoll continued to work hard in the Tornados zone and were awarded by a second goal for Chase #11 with a nice assist by Remy #2. This was an action-packed period and the fans were all on the edge of their seats.  Stella made a great save to keep us up by 2.  Remy #2 had a fantastic opportunity as he broke away from the pack and got a shot on goal. Tillsonburg replied with some pressure of their own and got a tip in goal followed by a second goal.  We ended the first with a tie and the team was ready for more.

The back and forth action continued into the first with both teams getting great scoring chances. Jake G was able to get an important zone clearing shot to slow down an attacking Tornados team.  With 4 minutes left the Express went on the power play.  The team worked hard during the power play and Jackson #7 ended up getting the go-ahead goal for the Express. Our defense was getting into the corners, fighting for the puck and clearing the zone. Ben #14 netted his first goal of the season with 22 seconds left in the second period putting the Express back up by two.

Both teams came out for the third period looking for a win.  Tillsonburg turned up the heat and were able to quickly come within one.  Stella stood her ground in net as the Tornados continued to fight hard.  Tillsonburg tied it up with a second quick goal in the period.  Ingersoll didn’t give up, they continued to work hard against a big, fast Tillsonburg team.  Ingersoll had a ton of shots on net as the game started to wind down.  Tillsonburg was able to go ahead with a power play goal making it a 4-5 game. Ingersoll continued to apply pressure, desperately looking to tie it up.  In the final few minutes Ingersoll dominated the game play, unfortunately we came up just short of the win but the improvements this team has made were obvious to all.  Way to go team on a game well played!
