Ingersoll vs Ayr Feb 6th
On Sunday the Express travelled down to Ayr to face the Flames. Coming off a confidence boosting win the team was excited to get back on the ice. After a quick start to the game, Ingersoll went down by one. With a pressuring Ayr team Ingersoll defence made some great plays. Ayr continued to play hard putting a lot of pressure on our team. Ayr was able to score another one at 1:34. On a screen shot Ayr was able to go up 0-3.
Rowan makes a great play to break up an Ayr three on one to start the second period. Ingersoll picked up their game in the first half of the second. Despite a good play by Mason the Flames scored a 4th goal. They followed up that goal with another quick one taking the wind out of the Express’ sails. Stella kept the score at 5 with a nice break away save. Mason scores Ingersoll’s first goal at 2:36 from the point.
Ingersoll finished the 2nd strong putting lots of pucks on net unfortunately they were facing a hot goalie.
The third period started off with another goal by Ayr. Ingersoll worked hard to stay in the game. They made some great passes and had lots of scoring chances. Stella made some excellent saves throughout the entire game. The Flames goalie was making some great saves of his own. Unfortunately, despite a hard fought game we came up short against a strong Ayr team.
