Silverstick - Express vs Dragons
On December 3 the Express played their second game of the Silver Stick tournament against Dorchester Dragons

On December 3 the Express played their second game of the Silver Stick tournament against Dorchester Dragons.  Dorchester came out strong in the first period not allowing Ingersoll much puck possession. Dorchester was able to strike first with three minutes gone in the first period. Ingersoll continued to battle hard to gain some momentum. Our defense was working hard to stop the Dorchester rushes and to keep the puck in our zone.  As time went on Ingersoll began to match the intense play of Dorchester and had some great scoring chances.  We came out of the first down by one.

Going into the second period Ingersoll was ready to take control of the game.  Again, the defensemen were playing strong on the blue line giving the team multiple opportunities to tie the game up.  The first three minutes of the period were played in Dorchester’s zone. Chase had a stellar chance to get the scoring started for the Express but the Dorchester goalie made a great save. Stella followed up that with an excellent save of her own. The game was intense as the play went back and forth. With 43 seconds left in the period Ben had a shot on net that just missed. After an intense second the score remained 0-1

Into the third we went looking to get some action on the Dorchester goalie.  At 8:51 Jackson scored an amazing goal to tie the game up.  Both teams picked up the pace of the game.  Ingersoll was grinding hard, unfortunately the team ended up with a penalty. As the Express were on the penalty kill we had a second penalty called on our team.  The team played hard and were able to kill off both penalties successfully.  As time was wearing down the crowd was sitting on the edge of their seats.  In the last 20 seconds of the game there was a pile of players in front of the Express net.  Stella made two good saves in a row.  With 10 seconds left the puck was put into the net by Dorchester ending in a heart-breaking loss for the Express.
