Bantam AE - Thamesford Pizza, 2017-2018 (Ingersoll & District Minor Hockey)

The Bantam AE Rep Thamesford Pizza squad took to the ice Thursday night at Burford and needed a win to secure a playoff spot. The good guys trailed Burford by 2 points in the standings and were tied with Caledonia going into the last game of the second half. A win over the Bulldogs, and some help from Plattsville against Caledonia, would have secured a playoff position for the Express. But the Express effort ended up in a tie with the Bulldogs and with Caledonia's win over Plattsville the Bantam AE team found themselves sitting one point out of the final playoff spot.

The Bantam AE Rep team continued their string of solid play lately as they hosted the Plattsville Rage Monday and earned another point. That puts the Thamesford Pizza side in a tie for fourth in the division with the Caledonia Thunder, with each team having one game remaining in the schedule. The Express will travel to Burford on Thursday to play the Bulldogs, who beat Paris Monday night, to jump up by two points on both the Express and Thunder. The Thunder will host Plattsville in their last game on Thursday as well. 

The Bantam AE Thamesford Pizza Rep side rode a strong game from goalie Dawson Sharpe combined with an excellent overall team effort to earn their third win in four games as the defeated the Paris Wolfpack 2-0 Monday night at the Ingersoll Memorial Arena.

After a couple of postponed game in Burford, the Express finally got a chance to play the league leading Bulldogs Monday night in Ingersoll. The home side, who have played much better in their last three games, took it to the Bulldogs generating numerous shots and scoring opportunities throughout the game while holding the visitors to a limited amount of time in the offensive end.  

The Bantam AE Thamesford Pizza squad hosted the Caledonia Thunder in the second game between the two teams in two days. The Ingersoll side was looking to make it two in a row over the Thunder after earning the road win the night before.
