Atom Rep Team Participate in Olympic Tournament
The Atom Brokerlink Express team travelled to Strathroy this weekend to participate in the Olympics Tournament.

The boys faced some tough competition all weekend.  Game 1 would see the boys face the host team, Strathroy Rockets.  This game was a lopsided affair with the Express on the losing side of an 8-1 loss.  The Ingersoll goal, his 1st of the season, was scored by Willie Parsons, assisted by Ty Shapton and Cam Freeman.  Saugeen Shores would be the opponent in game 2 of the tournament, the Express boys were able to shake off the morning game and played to a 0-0 tie.  The tie would be broken with a five minute 3 on 3, sudden death overtime.  The boys skated hard but, Saugeen Shores would be the first to net the puck, ending the game with a 1-0 loss for Ingersoll.
Saturday afternoon, the atoms would face the Mooretown Jr. Flags.  The Express would put the puck in the net first on a goal from Cohen Alexander assisted by Tyler Watts.  Mooretown would answer back with the equalizer and the go ahead goal, taking a 2-1 lead into the 2nd period.  The 2nd period would be a scoreless period.  Then at 4:22 of the 3rd, Alexander, would score the equalizer, unassisted.  One minute later, Mooretown would score the go ahead goal and the Express could not answer back, suffering a tough 3-2 loss.  In the final game of the tournament the boys would appear deflated facing a tough St. Mary's Rock team.  St. Mary's would use this to their advantage, defeating the Express 6-0.
There is always lots to learn playing tough competition.  The parents and coaches are excited to see the boys play Thursday night when they will host the Cayuga Stars and put all the lessons learned from this weekend into the game on Thursday.  Keep your heads up boys!!!
