The Brokerlink Atom Express Rep team would travel to Tillsonburg to face off against the Tornadoes on Feb.21. Although the flu bug had hit the team, the boys would come together and play a great team game.
The Express boys would be the first team to put a point on the scoreboard on a goal from Adam VanDyk from the high slot after a pass from Landon Skevington at the 6:53 mark of the first period. That goal would allow the Express to take a 1-0 lead into the second period. The second period would see both goaltenders shut out the opposing team and the Atom Express would maintain their 1-0 lead into the third period. As the third period got under way, it would be at the 8:20 mark of the third period when Brody Williams would find the back of the net, assisted by Willie Parsons, to put the Express ahead 2-0. As the clock continued to wind down Express goaltender, Ewan Spence, would shut the door on the Tornadoes allowing the Express to win the game 2-0. The boys will play their last playoff game on Thursday March 3rd when the Simcoe Warriors will come to Ingersoll with puck drop at 7:00pm.
