Some Tough Competition.
The weekend started early for the players of Ingersoll’s Carmeuse Lime/Verspeeten Cartage Pee Wee LL team, who played their first tournament in  Ayr this past weekend.  The first game was played on Friday November 8th @ 2pm against the Ayr Flames.

A tough game was played with Ethan Vlemmix scoring with only 13.4 on the clock! Assist goes to Nathan Graham.  Third period was played aggressively with both teams doing some time in the box.  Ingersoll’s second period goal gives the team the game win.

New team player Cole Millard joins his teammates for their second game Saturday November 9th @ noon against Six Nations.  It was an action packed game with the opposing team visiting the penalty box several times.  Very proud to see Ingersoll keep their cool and work together.  Halfway through the third period Nathan Graham scores the first goal assisted by Owen Longlade and Ethan Vlemmix.  Six Nations kept goalies Megan Longlade and Brodi Carbaugh busy with 14 shots on net.  Not to be outdone, Ingersoll had 13 shots on net with the second goal scored on the breakaway by Camden McDougall with only 5.1 left on the clock.  A nice second win and another shut out game for Ingersoll!

Team members Ethan Vlemmix, Matthew Debruyn, Keegan Purdy and David Timleck competed in Saturday afternoons relay, making it to the semi-finals, while Megan Longlade (goalie) and Camden McDougall competed in the shoot out competition.  Congratulations players on a job well done representing your team!

Early Sunday morning, game 3 starts with the puck drop at 8:05 am against Clarkson.  The shutout streak came to an end early in the first period as Clarkson scored their first goal.  A second goal, followed by a third one halfway brought the score to 3-0.  With less than a min left on the clock, Keegan Purdy scores a team goal.  Unfortunately Ingersoll lost their third game to the tournament champions with a final score of 1-3. The team played a very strong defensive game as Clarkson made over 25 shots on Ingersoll's net. Congratulations to all team players for playing well together, and winning 2 out of their 3 tournament games.  Brodi Carbaugh, Megan Longlade, Nathan Graham, Colin Dench, Camden McDougall, Keegan Purdy, Owen Longlade, Nolan Costa, Matthew Debruyn, Ethan Vlemmix, Cole Millard, Kiara Haley and David Timleck, you all deserve a big pat on the back for a well played tournament.

But wait….. There's more.  After a busy 3 games in Ayr, Ingersoll’s Carmeuse Lime/Verspeeten Cartage headed to Delhi for a regular season game Sunday evening @ 5:30pm.  Nearing the end of the first period, Cole Millard scores his first goal for Ingersoll assisted by Nolan Costa and Ethan Vlemmix.  Second Period had some great shots on Delhi’s net, first by Owen Longlade on the breakaway followed by Matthew Debruyn 30 seconds later.  Delhi played a strong defensive game holding Ingersoll to their one game goal.  Way to go Ingersoll for the keeping the season games winning streak alive!

The team rounded out their final fourth day of hockey in a row, hosting Langton @ I.D.M.C last night, Monday November 11th @ 8pm. 1st period both teams played well, but ended the period scoreless.  2 ½ min into the second period Keegan Purdy changes the score with an unassisted goal.  To even the score out, Langton scores in the first half of the third period.  It was a tough game, as both teams were kept skating hard trying to get a second goal in before the final buzzer.  Ethan Vlemmix gets the puck in with less than a min on the clock with the assistance of Keegan Purdy.  The buzzer sounds with a final score of 2-1! Another great win for Ingersoll!  The team has played an impressive 5 games and 1 practice in 4 days with winning 4 out of 5 games and have continued their league winning streak.  Time for the players to get some rest before their next game in Six Nations on Saturday November 16th @ 3pm, followed by a home game Monday November 18th where they will be hosting an 8pm game against Port Dover @ I.D.M.C.
