The Pressure is On!!
As Ingersoll’s Verspeeten Cartage/Carmeuse Lime Pee Wee LL team heads into their final 3 league games, they are faced with a must win needed to make the playoffs.

The team headed to Simcoe Friday February 28th for their first of 3 games.  They started off strong, scoring their first goal midway into the first period when Nathan Graham scores unassisted!  Second period the players find their grove as Ethan Laporte and Matthew Debryun assisted Camden McDougall with the second goal around the halfway mark.  Shortly after David Timleck makes a clean pass over to Owen Longlade for goal #3. Second period ends with Ingersoll in the lead 3-0. Ingersoll does it again to score a fourth goal with Ethan Vlemmix assisting Nathan Graham.  Simcoe got their fire started as they score 2 goals in the third period.  Final buzzer sounds and Ingersoll held their lead to win the game 4-2!!  One game down, 2 to go.

Sunday afternoon, the team hits the road again with a 5pm game in Norwich. After a time delay, the first puck is dropped! Norwich gets the lead only a minute into the game and holds it for the period.  Near the end of the second period, Camden McDougall scores unassisted. Second period ends with a tie score.  As both teams battle it out in the third period for the win, Norwich takes the lead with only 4 seconds left on the clock to win the game 2-1.  It was a well played game and congrats to all players on such a close game! Still one more game to go.

Monday March 3rd is the final of the 3 games against Port Dover and is a must win for the playoff spot.  The team is all fired up as they hit the ice in Port Dover.  A minute and half in and Colin Dench and Nolan Costa assist Nathan Graham with the teams first goal! With 2 minutes left on the clock Devon Jones assists Camden McDougall with Ingersoll’s second goal.  First period ends with Ingersoll in the Lead! Keegan Purdy and Nathan Graham start the period off assisting Camden McDougall with goal #3. Ingersoll played another awesome defensive period with Kiara Haley continuing her great work screening the goalie as they hold their 3-0 lead.  Port Dover steps up their game and gets a goal through 54 seconds into the third period.  Halfway through Ethan Laporte assists Camden McDougall in scoring a hat trick!! Nearing the end of the third period David Timleck shoots a nice unassisted goal bringing Ingersoll’s total to 5!  With only a minute left on the clock Port Dover gets a breakaway goal in, and follows it up with a second one with only 5 seconds on the clock.  Final Buzzer sounds with a win for Ingersoll 5-3!!!  Congratulations to all the players on games well played and goalies Megan Longlade and Brodi Carbaugh for making some awesome saves!

And they did it as Ingersoll heads to Six Nations on Wednesday March 5th for an 8pm semi-final game!!
