CAW Midgets advance to OMHA Playdown Semi-Finals
Branden Taylor scored the game winner and set up two goals to lead the Ingersoll CAW Local 88 Midget Rep team to a 3-0 victory over the Tavistock Titans to win the best 3 out of 5 Quarter final series three games to one. Michael Hazen was great in net stopping all 25 shots he faced for the well deserved shut-out.
Taylor scored at the midway point of the second period after being sent in on a breakaway by a nice pass from Brett Nicholson. This goal held up to the ten minute mark of the third period when Taylor passed out front to a wide open Graham Hall who buried his chance. Austin Kielt finished off the scoring late in the period with Scott Arts and Taylor assisting on the play.
Tavistock had forced a game four by winning 2-1 in O.T. in game three. Ingersoll won games one and two by 6-3 and 3-1 scores.
The Midgets now advance to the OMHA semi-finals against the Kincardine Kinucks in a best 3 of series.
