Midgets remain unbeaten
Michael Nutt set up all four goals as the CAW Local 88 Midgets defeated the Port Dover Pirates 4-1 in Ingersoll Sunday night to remain unbeaten in the regular season. Jordan Travis continued to have hot hands as he tallied twice with Kyle Crossman and Peter Wey also finding the back of the net. Joshua Taylor had two assists while Kevin Hazen and Crossman each had a helper.
Randy Weatherhead picked up the win stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced.
The Midgets also won earlier in the week beating Simcoe by the same 4-1 score. Michael Hazen had a great game in net allowing only a late goal by Simcoe while making 17 previous saves. His twin brother Kevin Hazen notched his first goal of the year on a slapshot that was actually set up and assisted on by goaltender brother Michael.
Graham Hall, Nutt and Travis rounded out the scoring with Brett Nicholson. Austin Kielt, Nutt and Travis chipping in with assists.
Local 88 Midgets have one game left in the first half of the season playing Aylmer later this week and then play a tournament in Aylmer on the weekend.
