Embro unable to handle CN Tower line
The Embro Edge Midget Rep team could not contain the CN Tower line (Crossman, Nutt, Travis) as they scored all three goals in a 3-1 win for the Ingersoll Express CAW Local 88 Midget Rep team on Tuesday in Embro.
Kyle Crossman set up Michael Nutt with a nifty between the legs pass to open up the scoring three minutes into the game. Both Crossman and Nutt set up Jordan Travis in the second period for a pair of goals to put Ingersoll up 3-0 and the team was able to hold off Embro in the third for the win. Randy Weatherhead was stellar in net stopping 19 of 20 shots for the win.
On Wednesday night The team travelled to Tillsonburg and it was Michael Nutt scoring twice at one end and Michael Hazen stopping 26 of 28 shots at the other end to come up with a 2-2 tie.
Coach Jeff Nicholson was pleased with effort of the team in its first two games of the season getting 3 of a possible 4 points on the road.
The Midgets play in a tournament in Owen Sound on the weekend with two games on Friday, two on Saturday and a possible three games on Sunday.
