Schuett Scores Three as Midget Boys Tame the Wildcats
Article Submitted by Mike Martineau.

The Shooters Photography Midget Local League team played host to the Waterford Wildcats Sunday night. Ingersoll coasted to a 6-2 victory, led by talented forward Alex Schuett, who had a four-point night.

Daniel Pullen got the Express train rolling mid-way through the first period, Brendan Aarts unleashed a shot from the blue line, Tyler Bergman tipped it in front of the net and Pullen was there to poke home the rebound. Ingersoll ran into penalty trouble early in the second, but Waterford failed to capitalize while playing with a two man advantage.

With one Ingersoll player still in the box, Schuett scored a nice short-handed goal, stickhandling between the two Waterford defenders and beating the Wildcats goalie along the ice. Waterford fought back, cutting the lead in half just forty seconds later. With four minutes remaining in the period, Schuett fed a perfect cross- ice pass over to line mate Cohen Belore, but the one- timer failed to click. Seconds later, the two Ingersoll forwards set up the identical play, this time Belore was not to be denied, and Ingersoll regained its two goal lead.

Number 17 continued to dazzle, using his stick handling skill to undress the Waterford defenders before wiring a wrist shot past the Wildcats goalie for his second of the night. Tyler Bergman put Ingersoll ahead by 4 early in the final frame and Schuett completed his hat trick, carrying the puck the length of the ice before lifting a backhand shot into the top of the net. Despite being down 5 skaters to 3 for the last two minutes of the game, Ingersoll managed to hang on to defeat the Wildcats 6-2, improving their record to 7-2-1.
