Express Dominate in Season Opener
Submitted By Jamie Belore on Monday, October 7, 2019
The Shooters Photography Midget local league team trounced the visiting Paris Wolfpack Sunday night,

skating away with a convincing 5-1 victory. After a scoreless first period, Dylan Daltrey put Ingersoll on the board with a powerplay goal early in the second. Max Branderhorst and Cohen Belore earned assists on the play. Paris pulled even less than a minute later, but before the end of the period Ingersoll scored its second powerplay goal when Liam Knox unleashed a wrist shot from the blue line and Brendan Aarts pounced on the rebound, shoveling the puck behind the Paris goaltender with help from line mate Austin Brunelle.  Four minutes into the final frame Branderhorst put Ingersoll ahead 3 to 1 when he took a pass from Daltrey and beat the Wolfpack netminder stick side. Ben Scott almost made it 4 to 1 when he broke in behind the Paris defense but was unable to find the back of the net with a backhander after pulling the Paris goalie out of position. Daniel Martineau and Tanner George were very effective while killing off a pair of Paris powerplays in the third. With just over 4 minutes to play Scott scored to give the Express a comfortable three goal lead. Martineau and Branderhorst assisted on the Scott goal. With less than a second on the clock, Lucas White scored his first goal of the season, Brunelle earning his second assist of the game on the play.
