Game #6 S.C playoffs - Express tame the Titans at home
After a white knuckler on the way back to town last night, calmer weather prevailed today as we hosted the Tavistock Titans, on a rare Monday night tilt for our Peewee A/E's.
Ben Baker was ready to do his part in front of the boys tonight.

From puck drop, you could tell as a spectator that this was going to be a good game. Both teams had a little jump in their step, and kept us entertained with a high paced game from start to finish. Eli North started the Express off on the right foot, by finding the back of the net with just shy of six minutes left of the period. Jeremy Stiles would add to the lead less than a minute later, as he took a feed from Ryan Gregg and buried the puck behind the Titans goalie. We would take a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.

In the second, the speed game continued, but in typical fashion our defense remained a wall, and our forwards pressed with vigor and determination, until Tavistock started to take a couple of unnecessary penalties. The Express would score on the first power play opportunity as Stiles would find the back of the net again, this time from a feed from Ethan Kish.

The third was just another lunchbox period for the Express who took a couple of penalties of their own, but Tavistock could not get anything going offensively, even with the man advantage. Taylor Murray would bury a rebound high over the goalie, after a hard shot by Logan Pare was not able to be controlled by the Titans, and Murray knew exactly what do with the frozen piece of rubber. Congratulations to Ben for yet another shutout. A practice for the boys is all that is on the docket for the balance of the week. A well deserved break is in store for both the players and the staff. Looking forward to the weekend, when the boys get things going again. Way to go Express.
