Game # 5 S.C Playoffs - Express win in Ayr
Submitted By Rich McNeil on Saturday, February 8, 2020
With the Peewee A/E squad ready to head to Niagara on the Lake tomorrow to start the next round of OMHA playdowns, we had a tune up game in Ayr vs the Flames. Ben Baker would take the net for the visiting Express.

This was a game dominated by the team from Ingersoll from the get go, hopefully providing some good mojo to our rep squad that was taking the ice immediately following. We would get on the board first as Alex Stratton was able to thread the needle past a very big netminder, after Tyler Fleming made a lovely pass to set up the goal. The period would end with us holding a one goal lead.

Ayr would tie the game , after a shot on goal handcuffed Baker, and got by him. The Express would regain the lead 36 seconds later, when Eli North connected with a waiting Tyler Fleming, who made no mistake in front of the Ayr  net and scored. It only took 11 more seconds to take a two goal lead as Ethan Kish buried a pass from Jeremy Stiles into the back of the home teams net. Finally with just less than a minute left, Ryan Condotta got onto the scoresheet, scoring a pretty marker with assist to both his linemates Owen Clarke and Jeremy Stiles.

Period three did not produce anymore scoring for either team, but a majority of the period was played in the Ayr zone. Final score was 4-1. The boys will need to get some rest as we have a 90 minute drive down the 403 tomorrow. Exciting times for our boys indeed. Good Luck Express!!
