Game #3 OMHA Playdowns - Big effort brings results!!
We were back at the Madhouse on Mutual for game #3 as we hosted the Tornadoes from Tillsonburg. After a heartbreaker on Super Bowl Sunday, the boys were anxious to get back at it, with a statement game, with a large audience in attendance to witness it. From puck drop, it was evident that our boys were not going to let this game get away from them. In net for the home squad was Ben Baker, who was coming off a shutout in his last game vs Tavistock.

In the first, our boys were flying, controlling a majority of the play. However, knowing how good the goaltender was on the visitors side, the boys were trying to pick corners and just missing the net, time and time again. It was when the light bulb went off, and the boys brought heavy traffic to the front of the net, was when our luck changed and Owen Clarke opened the scoring with 2:24 left in the frame, after a great little passing sequence with his line mates Taylor Murray and Ryan Condotta. Not content with this Tyler Fleming, who was flying all night long buried a puck after a scramble in front. Assists going to Eli North and Alex Stratton, with only 1:05 left. Back to center for puck drop only to march back again, and this time Eli North buring the puck in the net with Kian Brown and Tyler Fleming credited with assists, only 17 seconds later. By the time the period ended, the Tornadoes were looking up at a 3-0 deficit.

The high pace continued in the second, and after Cole McNeil drew Tillsonburg into a cross checking penalty, we went on the power play, but our aggressive press was caught, and they sprung a forward off on a breakaway towards Baker. Credit to the Tillsonburg forward, who went top shelf on a wicked wrist shot, to cut the lead to two, heading to the final period.

Ingersoll would regain it's three goal cushion after Alex Stratton fed Tyler Fleming who went end to end and finished with a highlight reel goal. We continued to press to the final buzzer, and we walked away with a 4-1 win, and a 4 pts to 2pts lead in the series. We travel to Tillsonburg for a late game on Thursday with puck drop at 8:30pm, in hopes of closing out the series. Go get them boys.... Great effort tonight.
