Game 5 - A date with the Dukes - Ayr Silverstick
Early to bed, early to rise. Your Ingersoll Express Peewee A/E squad had to get up extra early to play in their semi final match vs the Druro Dukes. This team is not an early morning team, so we hoped they could hold their own until they found their legs. Ben Baker got the nod between the pipes.

The Dukes would score the first goal halfway through the first period, as we were still trying to wipe the sleep out of our eyes. With the Express down 1-0, the boys started to find their legs as Ryan Condotta would even the score with a nice wrap around from behind the net, that the Dukes netminder was clearly not ready for. Taylor Murray would add to our lead as he buried the biscuit in basket after Owen Clarke found Murray primed and ready for a pass to insert into the back of the net. Druro kept pressing, and if it wasn't for some strong goaltending from Ben Baker, this easily could have been a tied affair. The period ended with the Express up two to one.

Alex Stratton would find the back of the net with assists going to Tyler Fleming and Eli North with 5:48 left in the 2nd period to give us a two goal cushion. Ben continued his fine play with several saves keeping the Dukes in check. Druro would draw within one with 2:29 left in the second, and again making the boys realize that a better effort was going to be needed to close this game out. Ryan Condotta would give us our two goal cushion back, as we ended the period with a 4-2 lead.

It only took the Express twelve seconds into the third to knock the wind out of the Dukes sails, as Kian Brown placed a wrist shot glove side to give us a 5-2 lead. Tyler Fleming would find the back of the net, giving us a nice four goal cushion. The last goal came off the stick of Ryan Gregg, who was set up beautifully by Jeremy Stiles. A convincing win for the boys who would find out they were set for a date with the St.Mary's Rock, who knocked off the Durham 4-0 in their Semi Final.
