Hockey Night in Ingersoll - Game 1
The Ingersoll Peewee A/E squad took to the ice to host the Thunder from Caledonia. Even though Coach Belore and his staff had only two full practices with the squad, all in attendance were excited to see how the team would fair. It was evident from puck drop that our boys came to play. They used their speed and resilience to press the Thunder in their own end for the majority of the first period. Great scoring chances by Eli North and a last second crossbar off the stick Jeremy Stiles kept the score at 0-0 after one period.

The second period started exactly as the first, as the Express were relentless in their offensive attack. Finally after a barrage of shots, Alex Stratton opened the scoring, by calmly lifting the puck over a sprawling Thunder goaltender, who was brilliant the entire game. Five minutes later, Eli North found the back of the Caledonia net, with a well placed wrist shot to open up the lead to 2 for Ingersoll heading into period 3.

The Express showed much more of the same in the third, but Caledonia wasn't about to give up. A great shot, just out of the reach of Tanner Belore made the game 2-1 halfway through the third. A costly tripping penalty by the Thunder a minute later, swung the momentum right back in the Expresses favour, and we were able to close out the game with an fantastic defensive effort, as the final shot tally favoured the hometown boys 39 -14 and the final score was 2-1. Even though Belore was not tested a lot, he stood tall when called upon to solidify a great game to start the season.

Our next game action comes this Sunday as we head to Plattsville, to face the Rage. All aboard the Express Train.....Great game boys!!
