Peewee Ponting Financial Group Start Playoffs
On Saturday January 5th, the Ingersoll Express Peewee Rep team would play their first game of their Southern Counties playoffs against the Caledonia Thunder on home ice. Puck drop was 4:30pm.
Our Ingersoll boys knew they were in for a hard fought battle after facing Caledonia during regular season and in tournaments. Period 1, would be a scoreless affair with both goaltenders shutting out their opponents. It would be Ingersoll to answer the bell first, with an unassisted goal by Nick Yoworski, giving his team a 1-0 lead. This lead would carry into the 3rd period, then with 5:32 left Caledonia would tie the game 1-1. The Thunder would strike again just 2 minutes later to take a 2-1 lead late in the game. Ingersoll would pull their goalie, but could not manage to find the back of the Caledonia net and would suffer a hard fought loss to the Thunder.
The Peewee boys will hit the ice again on Wednesday January 8th, when they will travel to Caledonia to take on the Thunder again, game time is 8:15pm
