The Bantam AE Rep team continued their string of solid play lately as they hosted the Plattsville Rage Monday and earned another point. That puts the Thamesford Pizza side in a tie for fourth in the division with the Caledonia Thunder, with each team having one game remaining in the schedule.
The Express will travel to Burford on Thursday to play the Bulldogs, who beat Paris Monday night, to jump up by two points on both the Express and Thunder. The Thunder will host Plattsville in their last game on Thursday as well.
Both teams were kept off the score sheet until the third period thanks to some timely saves by both goalies as well as each team hitting a couple of posts.
Ingersoll's best chance of the game came in the second period when winger Matt Molnar raced down the right wing into the Plattsville zone. Molnar slammed on the breaks and watched the Rage defender go right on by. Molnar then cut into the slot area and wired a rolling puck that beat the Plattsville goalie but clanged off the cross bar.
Ingersoll would open the scoring 4:10 into the third period after Express winger Ben Scott forced a turnover in the Plattsville zone. Scott found center Emmitt Robinson just inside the Rage blueline with a tape to tape pass. Robinson took a couple of strides in and let a shot go that beat the Plattsville netminder to give Ingersoll the lead.
Plattsville would not go away and would try to respond but some solid defensive zone coverage by the Express and key saves by goalie Dawson Sharpe would keep Plattsville off the board.

The visitors would eventually pull their goalie for an extra attacker and would tie the game up with 0:28 left on a seeing eye slap shot from the point that managed to find its way through a maze of players and into the top corner of the Express net ending the game in a tie and giving each team a point.
