Peewee Ponting Financial Group Rep Team – Week in Review
This past week the Ingersoll Peewee Rep team would play 2 home games.
On Tuesday December 5th, the Cayuga Stars would roll into town. As the boys hit the ice, the 1st period would be a back and forth battle between the 2 teams, leading to a 0-0 tie heading into the 2nd period.
It would be at the 7:59 mark of the 2nd period, when Nicholas Yoworski would score for Ingersoll, assisted by Ryan Vandersarand Jaxson Vandevenne, that Ingersoll would take the lead. One minute later Tyler Watts would score, assisted by Dylan Condotta and Emmett Gedies, giving Ingersoll a 2-0 lead. Yoworski would score another in the 2nd period, assisted by Jack Brown and Ty Shapton giving Ingersoll a 3-0 lead, heading into the 3rd period. This would not be the end of the scoring for Ingersoll, early in the 3rd period Vandersar would give Ingersoll a 4-0 lead assisted by Gedies and Nate Pike. Yoworski, would score his 3rd goal of the game, assisted by Watts and Parker Huitema at the 3:30 mark of the 3rd period. Express goalie, Nate White would earn himself a shut out and the team would earn a 5-0 win over the the Stars.
Our boys would hit the ice again on Thursday December 7th, hosting the Ayr Flames. This battle would start when Ingersoll, at the 3:48 mark of the 1st period, would score on a goal by JaxNguyen, assisted by Ty Shapton and Parker Huitema. Ingersoll would take an early 2-0 lead in the game when Ryan Vandersarwould score, assisted by Willie Parsons with 1:45 left on the clock in the 1st period. Goal tender Hunter Collins, would not allow Ayr on the board in the 1st, giving his team a 2-0 lead heading into the 2nd period.
Myles Martin would score unassisted early in the 2nd period to give Ingersoll a 3-0 lead. Ayr would start to close the gap to 3-1 late in the 2nd, Nate Pike would regain that gap scoring with 0:33 seconds left in the 2nd, assisted by Nguyen and Shapton. Ayr would not roll over scoring with 0:12 seconds left in the period, making the score 4-2 heading into the 3rd period.
Ayr would make a strong push tying the game 4-4 early in the 3rdperiod. Dylan Condotta would give Ingersoll a 5-4 lead, assisted by Vandersar and Carter Aarts with 5:29 left in the 3rd period. Ayr would continue to pressure Ingersoll managing to tie the game at 2:53 and would take the lead with 1:18 left in the 3rdperiod. Despite Ingersoll’s best efforts they would not be able to tie the game, suffering a tough 6-5 loss.
The Ingersoll Peewee Rep team will play their next game on the road on December 18th, when they will travel to Wellesley to play the Twin Centre Stars at 7:05pm.
