Peewee Express Face off Against Tornadoes
The Ingersoll Express Peewee Ponting Financial Group hosted the Tillsonburg Tornadoes on November 2.
The Express boys would dominate the first period of play, handing the Tornadoes all they could handle, however, a strong Tillsonburg goalie would continually deny Ingersoll a chance to score. Goalie, Hunter Collins, would shut out Tillsonburg as well in the 1st period, allowing his teammates to carry a 0-0 tie into the 2nd period.
As the battle between the two teams continued into the 2nd period, it would be Ingersoll that would net the first goal when Tyler Watts would find Emmett Geddies who would beat the Tillsonburg goalie, glove side over the shoulder with 6:17 of the period. Tillsonburg would answer back, four minutes later, with a power play goal. Again, the game would remain tied 1-1, heading into the 3rd period.
The Express train would continue to role and pressure the Tornadoes. However, at the 4:47 mark, Tillsonburg would pull ahead 2-1. Ingersoll would never give up, with the net empty and 6 attackers, our boys would get a few chances. Unfortunately, Tillsonburg would manage to net an empty net goal, pulling ahead 3-1, which would be the final score.
The Ingersoll Express Peewee Rep team will participate in the Bill Batten Memorial Tournament in Exeter starting tomorrow with their first game at 2:55pm against the Ilderton Jets.
