Bantam LL # 2 - Unifor 3264, 2016-2017 (Ingersoll & District Minor Hockey)

The Bantam LL Unifor 3264 season came to an end on March 9/17 when the boys travelled to Burford to face the Six Nations Blackhawks in a Playoff Semi Final Game. The Blackhawks finished first overall in “B” division while Unifor 3264 finished in fourth thanks to a late season five game winning streak. The game was originally scheduled for March 8/17 in Oshweken but due to severe wind the Oshweken arena lost power and the game had to be postponed and rescheduled for the Burford arena.

Needing one point in the final regular season game to guarantee a fourth place finish in the league the Unifor 3264 Bantam LL team came up a goal short against the winless Ingersoll Thamesford Pizza Bantam team on Tuesday night. 

Playing their second game in three days the Unifor 3264 Bantam team combined a strong fore-check with aggressive play from the defense to edge the Burford Coyotes 1-0 giving goalie Dawson Sharpe his second shutout of the season.

The Unifor 3264 Bantam LL team fired 10 goals past the Port Dover team during their road trip against the Pirates. Led by Centerman Liam Carson and winger Cam Dench the team rolled past Port Dover 10 - 7 on Saturday afternoon.

After spending the past weekend in Wallaceburg for the Frank Dymock tournament, the Unifor 3264 Bantam LL team resumed there league schedule tonight by taking on the visiting Norwich Knighthawks.  The game ended up being a game of redemption for the team, especially for forward Brydon Johnson, who scored the game winning goal tonight after having a game tying goal against Kent, waived off that would have advanced his team to the semifinals of the tournament.
