Verspeeten Peewees Tie in Waterford
The Verspeeten Cartage Peewee Local League Express traveled back to Waterford Tuesday to take on the Wildcats #2 team this past week.  After beating the other Wildcat squad 5-1 the boys were looking to repeat their effort four days prior.

The Express were a little sluggish but still carried the bulk of the play as Aaron Lahey opened the scoring near the end of the first period, assisted by Alex Georgiou and Keagan Clifford.  Early in the second the Verspeeten boys extended their lead as Cameron White scored a wrap-around goal assisted by Georgiou and Lahey.  After two periods the Ingersoll team led 2-0.

The Wildcats got their offence going in the third period scoring early and often.  After narrowing the margin to 2-1 early in the third, Emmitt Robinson picked up a White’s rebound off of the end board and deposited it behind the Wildcats netminder to restore the 2 goal lead.  The Wildcats kept coming, scoring midway through the third and eventually tying the game with 4.1 seconds remaining.  Despite not getting the outcome they had hoped for, the Verspeeten Peewees’ unbeaten streak extended to 6 games with an overall record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 3 ties.  The boys look to continue that streak this week as they host the Paris Wolfpack #2 and travel to Delhi to play the Rockets #1.
