The Verspeeten Cartage Peewee Local League Express
rolled into Burford Saturday to take on the Coyotes. Ingersoll continued its strong play and
rolled to a 9-0 victory.
Emmitt Robinson opened the scoring on the second shift of the game ripping a wrist shot high over the Coyote’s goaltender’s blocker. Adam Klotz and Cameron Holland assisted on the tally. Three minutes later Parker Huitema’s hard shot from the blue line found the back of the net assisted by Robinson. Robinson then rounded out the scoring in the first period with his second of the game.
The score remained 3-0 for the next 10 minutes as the Verspeeten boys continued to pepper the Burford goal but were unable to score. Cameron White took a pass from Robinson and blew a heater from the blue line past the Burford netminder. Robinson completed his hat trick at the end of the second to give the Express a 5-0 lead through two periods of play.
The third period saw more of the same as the Express continued to pressure the Coyotes. White recorded his second of the game on a solo dash from his own end going high over the keeper. Keagan Clifford got on the board with a nice deflection of an Alex Georgiou shot. Georgiou then tallied one of his own twelve seconds later. A minute later Robinson rounded out the scoring in the game, assisted by Klotz. Recording his second consecutive shutout in goal for the Verspeeten boys was Hayden White. The boys look to keep on truckin’ as they host Simcoe #1 on Tuesday and travel to Waterford next weekend.
