Verspeeten Peewees Haul Away First Win
The Verspeeten Cartage Peewee Local League Express hauled away 3 of a possible 4 points over the past week, tying the Delhi Rockets, and winning over the Langton Leafs.

The Express traveled into Delhi to take on the Rockets #2 local league team last Sunday.  The boys got off to a slow start, allowing Delhi to take a 1-0 lead midway through the first period.  Ingersoll started to find their legs as the first period came to a close and began to dominate the game.  Midway through the second period the boys tied the game as Aaron Lahey scored on a nice passing play from Keagan Clifford and Alex Georgiou.  Ingersoll continued to carry the play but could not take the lead until late in the third period when Keagan Clifford darted around a couple Delhi defenders and got one over the Rockets' goalie’s blocker.  That lead would not last as Delhi capitalized on a late opportunity with a minute to play tying the game at 2.  Neither team could score in the last minute as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Tuesday the boys welcomed the Langton Leafs #2 local league team to the Ingersoll arena.  The Verspeeten team dominated from the opening puck drop until the final buzzer, defeating the Leafs 11-0.  The Express picked up 3 goals in the first period, 5 in the second, and 3 in the third.  Scoring for the boys were Clifford (2), Lahey (2), Georgiou (2), Emmitt Robinson (2), Parker Huitema (2), and Cameron White.  Picking up assists were, Clifford (4), Lahey (2), Georgiou, Robinson (2), Huitema, White (3), Adam Klotz (2), Jacob MacArthur, Cameron Holland, and Ethan Barrett.  Every skater recorded at least one point in the game.  The only player not to earn a point was goaltender Hayden White who took care of business in the net recording his first shutout of the season.  The boys have a quiet week this week with only one game in Burford to close out October.
