VERSPEETEN CARTAGE SEASON BEGINS
Verspeeten Cartage Local League Started Their Season With No Wins And No Losses.  The photo to the right shows the puck rebounding from the back of the net, following the tie goal scored by Michael Veale, assisted by Justin Burns, on Friday night.

On Friday, October 14th, Verspeeten Cartage travelled to Port Dover for a great match-up.  The first game of the season had both teams working hard, putting their skills against each other with mastery.  A clean game was had featuring excellent goal-tending throughout all three periods.  A tie of one goal a piece is where the game ended, with the tie goal scored in the last five minutes by #2, Michael Veale, assisted by #10, Justin Burns.

Saturday, the Verspeeten Cartage boys were travelling again and met with Six Nations.  The game became reasonably rough, as the PeeWee hockey players began to use their newly available body checking skills.  Everyone went in digging ferociously for the puck, and passes were excellent, with goal-tending that excelled.  In the end, both teams walked away with heads held high amidst a tie score of 2 each.  Scoring for Verspeeten Cartage was #2, Michael Veale, assisted by #17, Johnathen Landsborough and by #18 Nick Longlade.  Goal #2 was scored by Marcus Frizelle, assisted by #4, Anthony Ziraldo, as well as by #5, Connor Young-Craig.

The Verspeeten Cartage crew will play their next game at home, on Tuesday, October 18th, against Tillsonburg.  Good luck boys!
