Two Weeks and Two Ties
Langton came to town on January 31st, and were hosted by Verspeeten Cartage Peewees.  It was a  strong battle between two excellent teams, both sporting great goal tenders.  Through this gauntlet of hockey sticks, body-checking, and ice-carving blades, Verspeeten Cartage managed to put four pucks to bed inside the Langton net.

Those players who did so, were Kristopher Procter, who chipped the puck forward during a failed pass by the Langton players, and took off from behind his blue line to score unassisted on a breakaway at the other end of the ice.  Marcus Frizelle also put a puck past the skilled goalie with the assistance of Nick Likins.  Nick Likins himself then put the puck home, with the assistance of Kristopher Procter, while Austin George scored the final goal with assistance from Nick Likins and Cody Morrison.

But the excitement doesn't stop there – the Verspeeten Cartage boys went on to welcome Tillsonburg Peewees on February 7th.  This game was filled with excitement – the adrenaline was spilling off the ice and filling up the stands as the crowd was raging with cheers, whistles, shouts for both teams.

The goalie, Josh Adams saved many shots as his team mates tried to put many pucks into the Tillsonburg net.  In the end, one goal was scored by Verspeeten Cartage's Kristopher Procter who executed a wonderful wrap-around and put the puck home.  The final score of the game was one to one – a very hard-fought tie game and both teams should be very proud.

Keep up the great work, boys, and we'll see you at your next game!

Verspeeten Cartage plays their next game on Tuesday, February 14th, when they welcome Burford to their ice pad.  Come on out and support these excellent young men!
