Ingersoll Oxford Chiropractic Atom Reps Get Engines Running
The start of a new season of hockey is underway with some new and some old faces back representing the Oxford Chiropractic Atom Reps. The coaching staff of Jared Boersma - Head Coach, Kevin Atkinson - Assistant Coach, Roger Shelton - Trainer, Shawn Boersma - Assistant Trainer, and Brad Moon - Manager are looking forward to help enhance both the individual and the overall ‘team’ development in the months ahead, and not forgetting to keep the ‘fun’ in the game.

A long preseason full of exhibition games and tiring practices brought a crew of 13 kids closer together to take on the Hagersville Devils at home on October 15th to start the regular season. Despite the defensive efforts of both teams, this game was nothing but a shootout. An aggressive Ingersoll team found themselves in some penalty trouble giving up 3 power play goals in this contest. Sam Tasker tallied Ingersolls’ first goal of the year with assists from Sommer Lednicky and Eric Savoie . The remaining goals from Ingersoll came from Tasker (2), Tyler Goyette, Savoie, and Tanner Moon. Assists went to Lednicky (4), and Savoie(2). Noah Robinson stopped the Devils’ in the 3rd on a penalty shot to keep the game close. Ingersoll ended up losing the battle being burned 8-5.

On October 20th, the Express traveled to the kingdom of far, far, away, otherwise known as Glanbrook to take on the Rangers. A more defensive effort saw the two battle it out until the end with Ingersoll losing 2-1. Ingersoll’s goal was scored by Grayson Lochhead with assists going to Savoie and Lednicky.

On October 22nd, at home, the Express met the Burford Coyotes. Ingersoll seemed to control most of the play in this game keeping the puck in Burford’s end offensively most of the night. But luck seemed to be on Burford’s side on this night outscoring Ingersoll 4-3. Scoring for Ingersoll was Moon, Goyette, and Colin Weller-Burgess. Helpers went to Savoie, Tasker, Gage Langille, and Nathan Bruschetto..

The weekend of October 23-24, Ingersoll traveled to Simcoe for there first tournament of the year taking on the Strathroy Rockets in the first game on the Friday night. A valiant effort in this match up came up short for Ingersoll losing 4-2. Goals went to Langille, and Moon. Assists went to Moon and Nick Likins. The next two games Ingersoll played, seemed to lack the intensity of the first game, where they played against the home town Simcoe Warriors, losing 7-0 and a team from Port Hope, losing 5-2. Goals in this game were scored by Moon and Max Racicot. Assists went to Racicot and Savoie. Although, the team didn’t move on in this tourney they learned that a balance between offense and defense only comes with total team effort..

The Atom Reps next two games are on the road versus Waterford, and Paris. The next home game is Thursday, November 12th at 7pm against the Caledonia Thunder. So come cheer them on.
