Dairy Queen - Tyke LL, 2009-2010 (Ingersoll & District Minor Hockey)

On Saturday, March 6th, the Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke team travelled to Thamesford to face Thamesford Red.  The team got off to a rough start, falling behind 2-0 in the first 5 minutes.  They quickly came back and tied up the score, and kept it close for the better part of the game.  Thamesford eventually built an 8-4 lead, and although Ingersoll Dairy Queen had an offensive push towards the end of the game, they were unable to close the gap completely, with a final score 8-6 for Thamesford.  Scoring for Ingersoll were Eddie Ball (2G, 1A), Brennan Rupert (1G, 1A), Keegan Purdy (1G, 2A), Ryan ...

On Saturday, February 13th, the Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke team hosted Port Stanley once again.  The game started out well, with the kids building a 3-1 lead against the visitors.  However, with a shortened bench, the Dairy Queen Tykes were unable to hold on to the lead, and succumbed to the scoring of the Port Stanley kids.  The final score of the game was 7-5.  Scorers for Dairy Queen were Keegan Purdy, Ryan Bruschetto and Ethan Laporte with one goal and one assist each, Brennan Rupert with two goals and two assists, and Aidan Berto with one assist.  The Dairy Queen Tykes next play at home ...

The Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke Team hosted Belmont on Saturday, January 30th.  The team played an excellent game, which went back and forth early, before Dairy Queen Tykes were able to pull away.  The game ended up producing two hat-tricks for Dairy Queen players Ethan Laporte and Aidan Berto.  Also scoring for Dairy Queen were Brennan Rupert with two goals and Keegan Purdy with one.  Assists went to Rupert, Laporte, Purdy, Ben White, Will Jones and Eddie Ball.    

The Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tykes travelled again to the town of Port Stanley, this time to face Port Stanley team #1.  And did the kids ever show up to play.  From the initial puck drop to the final buzzer, the Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tykes controlled the pace of the play for nearly the whole game.  Aside from one breakaway goal for Port Stanley and a couple of dump ins, the remainder of the game was played in the Ingersoll offensive zone.  The team moved the puck extremely well, and it was evident that the boys are really coming together as a team. 

The Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke team travelled to Port Stanley on Saturday, January 9th, 2010, to face another Port Stanley team.  The tyke team played very well, but were only able to solve the Port Stanley goaltender once.  Port Stanley was led by one strong forward, who scored all of their goals.  Scoring for Dairy Queen was Logan White.
