On Saturday, January 02, the Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke team travelled to Aylmer to take on the Aylmer Green team. The Dairy Queen tykes were short-staffed, with only seven skaters and a goalie. However, the kids competed with lots of heart, and played an excellent game.
Aylmer opened the scoring about 8 minutes into the game, but it was quickly tied up by Diary Queen’s Aidan Berto. Dairy Queen then went on to take the lead a few minutes later, and never gave it back up. The game see-sawed, with Aylmer tying the game once and coming close a second time, but a game saving block by goaltender Will Jones kept Ingersoll in the lead. The final score was 5-4 for Dairy Queen. Other scorers for Ingersoll were Logan White and Keegan Purdy, with 2 goals each. Assists went to Brennan Rupert, Ethan Laporte, Logan White and Ryan Bruschetto. Ingersoll Dairy Queen Tyke play their next game on Saturday, January 9, at Port Stanley.
