Game three Bill Batten Memorial Tournament
The Ingersoll Louie's Pizza and Pasta U15 Express played their third game of the Bill Batten Memorial tournament Saturday afternoon against Lucan in a must win game.

In a tournament where winning periods counts just as much as winning a game does, each period meant something for the boys in this game.

The boys came out with lots of energy in this must win game and it paid off on the score board.  Ethan Kish scored both Express goal in the period with Eli North getting the assist on one of the goals.  That was a small victory for the boys as they won the first period.

In the second, the boys had a little more difficulty scoring mainly because the Lucan net minder made some terrific saves in this period.  With the boys hopes slowly starting to fade away, they thought they notched one late but the goalie from Lucan made and NHL style save with his glove that you usually see on Sports Centre.  Then the unthinkable happened.  With 0.6 seconds left in the period and faceoff to the left of the Lucan netminder, Ethan Kish had the hockey I.Q to intentionally get tossed from the faceoff so the right handed shot of Eli North could take the draw.  With North lined up for the faceoff, the referee dropped the puck and North snapped the puck off the post and into the net.  Again this is all with 0.6 seconds left and the fans were left in disbelief and the Express went crazy.  Again a play you may only see on the Sports Centre's highlight of the night.  The boys won period two and kept their hopes alive.

In the third, the captain Jeremy Stiles, and Kellen Whetstone scored to win the final period and the game 5-0.  Jeremy Stiles and Ryan Gregg had the assists on the goal.

Unfortunately the boys didn't get the help they needed to advance to the semi finals but what an exciting game the boys played.

The boys play their next game at home against Paris on Thursday at the barn in Ingersoll.
