OMHA playdown championship tournament game 1
On Friday April 7, the Ingersoll Louie's Pizza and Pasta U15 Express opened their OMHA championship tournament against Lindsay.

The boys have been working hard leading up to their final tournament of the season with multiple practices but one could wonder if their would be any rust with no games being played for over a week.

The fans were loud and boisterous on both sides making lots of noise and cheering loud for their boys.  In the first, it was a very physical period with bodies flying everywhere, but late in the period Kellen Whetstone broke the scoreless draw with assists going to the captain Jeremy Stiles and Ryan Gregg.

Early in the second, Lindsay would tie the game and then take the lead right after leaving the boys a little dazed and on their heals.  The physicality continued and late in the period, the boys caught a break when Eli North found a loose puck and buried it with eight seconds remaining in the period.  Brody Huitema was credited with the assist.

With the score tied going into the final frame, anything could happen.  With Lindsay getting into penalty trouble, the boys were able to capitalize with a power play goal when Brody Huitema's shot was beautifully tipped by Urijah Jewkes breaking the tie.  The other assist went to Tyler Fleming.  The boys put the game out of reach late in the third when Kellen Whetstone scored his second of the game with the helper going to Ryan Gregg.

Jaxon Pinard was solid in net for the boys leading them to the 4-2 win.  Their next game would be Saturday morning at 10am vs. Napanee.
