GM#8 - SC Playoffs - Express explode out of the gate in Paris.
A little shorter article today as the boys headed down the 403 to match up against the Paris Wolf Pack. The U15 rep's sponsored by Louie's wanted to keep their momentum going in the right direction as this portion of the season winds down. The last time these two teams met, it was a physical game where emotions ran high on both teams. We welcomed back Ryan Wolfe, but were missing Sam House for tonight's tilt.

In net for the Express was Tanner Belore who continued his solid play between the pipes for the Express. To much of our pleasure as spectators, the boys came out on a mission in the first and scored only over a minute in, as Colton Macpherson found the back of the net, with assists credited to Josh Robles and Kolton Winkworth. Eli North would give us a two goal cushion after Ryan Wolfe got the puck into Jonah Martire who made a perfect feed out front to Eli, who fought off the defenders with a quick release.

Ingersoll would pot two more in the period with Westin Matsumoto, who broke in on the left side and utilized his speed to break in uncontested and bury one past the Paris netminder. Helpers credited to Cole McNeil. Just over a minute later, Josh would pot his 20th of the season to give the visiting Express a four goal cushion, after a scramble out in front, with Matsumoto and MacPherson getting the assists. Tanner wasn't overly busy, but he was always ready and made some big saves to keep the home squad off the board. They however would get one as Paris did score on the powerplay, after Max Matheson got called for an interference penalty.

The home team tried to intimidate the Express by trying to lay out some big hits, but at the end of the day skill and speed won out as the boys did a great job with puck control, cycled the puck and passed well tonight and executed a solid team win. In other news, the Ayr Flames dropped a contest with Aylmer on Friday night as well, giving the Express an opportunity at first place, if they are successful in winning their final two contests vs those same Aylmer Flames, with the first game being played on Saturday Afternoon in Aylmer.

Before the game today, the boys are meeting for a team breakfast at Louie's. Looking forward to another exciting game from this very exciting team. Go Express!!
