Gm#6 SC Playoffs - U15's battle to a tie vs Ayr
Coming off a big win last night, our U15 Rep squad was right back at it vs the Ayr Flames. Tanner Belore was between the pipes once again as we played our arch rivals. This entire game was played at an intense pace from start to finish and as a fan in the stand, was truly worth the price of admission.

The first period, we had a hard time getting any pucks to the net, and seemed like we could not find a seam to shoot through, as we hit skates, legs, chests, but nothing of any substance got to the net. Belore was the much busier netminder, and as we have come to expect, Tanner was calm, cool and collected as he kept the pressing Flames forwards at bay, and the period ended scoreless.

Ayr would take the lead early in the second on the power play, but it seemed to spark our boys a bit, as they started to play with a tad more urgency, and were awarded with a goal by Dylan Craib, with assists going to Ethan Kish and Ryan Wolfe. We pressed a little harder, but the 2nd would end with both teams knotted at 1-1.

The third was a wide open, back and forth affair as it was pretty evident that both squads wanted this one bad. We would take the lead on a 5 on 3  power play as the hot hands of Jeremy Stiles continued to sizzle, with Kian Brown earning an assist. The lead was short lived as only 20 seconds later, and still on the power play, Ayr marched right down the ice and buried one past Belore, who almost stopped the breakaway, but just got behind him and his momentum knocked the puck in. Ayr, credited with a short handed goal, tied the contest at two. Unfazed by the play, the boys continued to push and took the lead back a few minutes later as Max Matheson got one past the crowded Ayr net and gave the home team a lead, we would hold until with less than a minute, and the Ayr net empty for the extra attacker, scored with only 53 seconds left on the clock.

The game ended 3-3 and the boys should hold their heads high. They played a strong game. The boys get a nice break, but play three in three late next week. Enjoy the rest boys and be ready to rock when the puck drops!!
