Game #16 - Tough loss at the Madhouse vs Rockets
It w5as the U15 reps last game before the break, and 1st since the back to back losses at Silverstick, where we played well, but had no finish to our game. We were hoping for better results tonight at the Delhi Rocket came to town, with an impressive 7-3-3 record on their season thus far. Starting in goal for the Express was Jaxon Pinard.

The first two periods were played at a furious pace, as Delhi came out as the hungrier team at first, however once the boys found their legs, the pendulum started to swing in our direction. It looked like we had taken the lead as our captain Westin Matsumoto found another gear and made his way from our end with the puck, and unleashed a swift wrist shot that surprised the Delhi netminder, and found the back of the net. However it was waived off as it was determined that the buzzer sounded before the puck crossed the goal line. The second period belonged to the home squad as they threw many great scoring chances at the visitors, but just were snake bitten yet again as they were stopped over and over. At the other end, Delhi did have some great scoring chances of our own, but Pinard was up to the challenge, and he make some highlight reel saves of his own, keeping this game scoreless through two.

The full moon must of blanketed the arena in the third, because what was an exciting game got very chippy very quickly. We fell out of sorts, and before we could get refocused on the task at hand, the visiting Rockets had scored three unanswered goals in a span of 4 four minutes. The Express would continue to press however, as Ryan Wolfe got us on the board as a puck back from Eli North found the back of the net, as he let loose on a slapper from the point. Thirty-six seconds later, Matsumoto would find the back of the cage as well with an assist going to Josh Robles, pulling us within one. With Jaxon pulled, the Express tried mightily to tie the game, but a crash play at the Delhi net, started off a bunch of extra curricular events that really snuffed out any momentum as the delays became longer and longer, and before you know it, the clock ticked down to zero.

It was indeed another exciting finish, but we ended up on the wrong side of a 3-2 final. The Louie's squad gets a well deserved rest as they regroup and prepare for the second half of the season. Wishing all of you safety and happiness during these unprecedented times.  Happy Holiday's to the entire Ingersoll Express Family!!
