Game #11 - Express regain top spot in Southern Counties.
The Express hit the road for a date with their rivals Tillsonburg. It's been over a week since the team played a game, due to a cancellation by the Twin Centre Stars last Thurday. Starting in goal tonight was Jaxon Pinard, in this battle for top spot in the Southern Counties loop.

You could tell there seem to be a bit of rust, as it seemed we were having a hard time finding our legs. With Westin Matsumoto serving his first of 3 games away, the boys were playing with one less forward for the evening. Tillsonburg would open the scoring as a mad scramble for the puck in front of Pinard came loose, and the Tornadoes forward was able to get a quick shot off on Pinard, who was partially screened on the play. In a blink of an eye, Josh Robles took the puck off the faceoff and marched right in and made a nifty move on the Tillsonburg netminder, to tie the game up at 1-1.

Eli North would give us a lead we would not relinquish, as he threaded the needle between the goaltender's glove and the post as he used his speed to march down the right side of the ice and blew by the defender and released his lethal wrister. At the end of the frame, the Express held a 2-1 lead.

In the third, the Express just shut the door, as Tillsonburg tried to gain any offensive momentum, but everywhere they seemed to be, was met with a red jersey in hot pursuit. Tillsonburg would get a late power play after Colton MacPherson received a two minute minor for head contact. The Tornadoes pulled their netminder, and had a 6 man to 4 advantage, but the Express did well to not give them any real lane to shoot. When they did get one through, Pinard made sure there would be no rebounds to be had. The final buzzer went and Ingersoll U15 leave town with a 2-1 victory. Not much time to bask in the win, as we prepare to host the Aylmer Flames tomorrow night at the madhouse. Congrats men on your victory this evening. Be prepared to bring it tomorrow night.
