Game # 6 - Express shutdown the Titans
First of all, a huge thanks to all that served our great country over the years on this Remembrance Day. After a busy weekend in Niagara, the Express got a few days off to recharge the batteries, before starting out on a five day stretch of hockey. Prior to puck drop, we all were entertained by DJ Troy, which we hoped would give the U15's a jump in their step to start the contest.

Our first task at hand was hosting the Tavistock Titans this evening. Between the pipes for the home team was Tanner Belore, who wanted to start a new shutout streak. The boys were hoping to keep their perfect record in tact, however the Titans were motivated to put a halt to that streak.

The first period started out slow again as the boys seemed the need to chip off some rust. However, the Titans were not fairing much better as either team got much momentum. It was Westin Matsumoto who got us on the scoreboard with 19 seconds left on the clock after tipping a point shot from Ryan Wolfe past the goaltender. Ingersoll was only able to get 3 shots on goal that period, while the Titans only managed two.

In the 2nd, we found the net twice, as Noah Muller fed the puck to defenseman Sam House, and he calmly fed the puck into the slot where Josh Robles had set up shop, and with some sick stickwork, made a great little shimmy step, sliding the puck into the back of the cage. Kolten Winkworth would add to the lead after intercepting an errant clearing attempt by the Tavistock defender. What seemed to be a harmless shot on the net, Winkworth caught the Titan's netminder a bit out of position and placed it perfectly just inside the far post. We headed to the 3rd up by three goals.

Tavistock was determined to break the shutout, but Belore's buddy aka the crossbar, would be the recipient of two scoring chances denied. Jeremy Stiles would seal the deal later in the frame as Cole McNeil whipped the puck around the net and found the speedy Stiles wide open, and away to the races he went, utilizing that wicked wrister he possesses past the glove hand of the Tavistock goalie. Late in the period, Colton was called for an unfortunate checking from behind call that will leave him unable to suit up tomorrow night against the Ayr Flames, in Ayr.

Final score was Ingersoll 4 Tavistock 0. Belore starts the shutout streak again. Congrats boys, enjoy your PA day tomorrow and be ready to entertain us tomorrow night as we go for our seventh league win in a row.

All aboard the Express Train!!
