Thursday October 9th welcomes another home ice game as the Ingersoll Express take on the Delhi Rockets with an 8:20pm puck drop. With #1 in net, Ingersoll skates onto the ice ready to play, and soon into the first #9 sends a sweet pass to #18 who puts it sailing past the Rockets goaltender. The first period seemed to race by as #9,10, and 18, continue to share the puck with great passes. Ingersoll holds the Rockets off, and continues to period two with a 1-0 lead.
#18 proves he came ready for tonight’s game as he sends his second goal of the night into the Rockets net, unassisted. Line mates continue to gel throughout the second period and the buzzer sounds the end of period two, 2-0 Express!
As I watched, #16, and 18 bump hands in celebration of a great beginning to the game, coaches plan out how we are going to stay ahead in the third. Fifteen minutes on the clock, and the third period begins. Ingersoll continues to ward off shots as #1 stands firm in his net. With time running out, the Rockets make one more final attempt to change the end score by pulling their goalie. Under a minute left on the clock, and with the Rockets net left unattended, Jaxson, #14, sends one last puck through their bars. Final score, 3-0 Ingersoll, and a well deserved shutout for #1!
Onto another out of town game in Simcoe for the Ingersoll Express. GO EXPRESS GO!
