Home ice
Tuesday October 1st began our regular season games as we played host to the Hagersville Hawks for an 8:20pm puck drop. It’s a slappy start to the first period by the Hawks, and just over a minute in, Austin #21, gets called for head contact, which lands him 4 mins of “thinking time” in the box.

Adam #19, stands strong and shows the Hawks that our defense came ready to play.  Jax, #17 receives a great pass, and skates the puck up the ice to take a shot that rings off the post, no goal.  As the first period comes to an end another great pass comes from Dylan, #18, as Carter, #7, delivers the puck to the back of the Hagersville net.  1-0 Ingersoll!   Barley into the second period our defense hold strong again as Myles, #20, plants another puck into the Hawks net.  Goalie Hunter, #33, continues to block shot after shot until the Hawks manage to slide one in bringing the game to 2-1 on the score board.  Emmett, #15, and Keagan #9 prove that we won’t settle for a small lead, and add two more goals to our side of the board, making it 4-1 as the clock runs out in period 2, and the Hawks player as he’s tossed from the game. With our 4-1 lead going into the third the Hawks continue to play a rough game which sees them with a slashing penalty less than 4 mins into the period.  That didn’t seem to slow the Hawks down as they scored a shorthanded goal at 10:56 left in the third.  Ingersoll looks on as the board reads 4-2.  Not to worry though Ingersoll kept our side of the board moving up with two more goals by #15, and #9,6-2 Ingersoll! Now unfortunately for us the Hagersville wasn’t too fond of our 4 point lead and decided to they should add a couple more points to their side of the score board, making it 6-4.  Although the last goal they scored didn’t come without some controversy, as it was tipped in on a high stick.  The last period continued to be a physical one by the Hawks, and we played right into their game, costing us more penalty minutes, and thinking time for players #13, 21, and 20.  Both sides of the penalty box were filling up and the Hawks decided to pull their goalie in an attempt to even out the score board.  But after one more Hawk player flying into the penalty box, Hagersville coaches decide it best to put their goalie back in, and keep us from scoring anymore goals as the clock losses time.  6-4 end to our first official game of the season, and a “W” added.  Onto the next game Thursday night in Paris.  GO EXPRESS GO!
