01-06-2019 Carmeuse Lime Victorious in Battle of Ingersoll
The Midget Carmeuse Lime LL team rode to victory on two goals from Avery Shrigley and three points each from Matt Overreem and Luke Heather as they defeated Ingersoll Shooter's Photography 4-2 Sunday afternoon. Heather's three points also earned him player of the game honors.

Carmeuse Lime opened the game with sustained pressure in the offensive end and would open the scoring on their only powerplay of the game off a wrist shot from Daniel Martineau. Heather worked the puck behind the net and fed Overreem in the corner. Overreem would come out of the corner and send the puck back to Martineau who would beat the goalie with a wrist shot to the top corner glove side.

Carmeuse Lime would add to their lead with 3:41 left in the second. It was Heather again who started the play behind the Shooter's photography net. Heather sent the puck behind the net into the corner where Kieghan Osmond would pick up the puck and send a nice no look back pass right on the stick of Overreem. Overreem wasted no time with the puck on his stick and extended the lead to 2-0.

The third period saw Carmeuse Lime run into penalty trouble as they took four minor penalties resulting in two powerplay goals against. However, Shrigley managed to squeeze two goals in between to seal the victory for the Carmeuse Lime squad. Shrigley's first goal came on a fluttering slap shot from the point set up by Overreem and Heather. Shrigley's second goal was a nice individual rush from the neutral zone. Shrigley picked up a loose puck and skated in down the left side and sent a nice backhand past the Shooter's goalie.

Carmeuse Lime picked up three out of a possible four points this weekend.
