Scoring Struggles Continue as Carmeuse Lime falls to Langton 2
For the fourth game in a row the Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime Midget LL2 team failed to find the back of the net as they fell 3-0 to the Langton Leafs LL2 Sunday night in Ingersoll.

The home side struggles continued but not for lack of effort as they played a strong game generating multiple chances on the Langton goalie.  The line of Evan Wade, Nolan Costa and Paul Shearer had the best opportunity in the first period thanks to good hustle by a Wade who took control of the puck and skated in down the left side of the Langton zone. Wade then sent a nice back hand flip pass into the slot where Costa made a nice redirect that the Langton goalie made a nice pad save to keep the game scoreless after the first period.

The second period saw the line of Matt Overreem, Luke Heather and Brydon Johnson apply some extended pressure in the Leafs zone which forced the Langton goalie into a couple of good save and a couple of key defensive plays by the Leafs. Johnson centered a puck from the corner that took a funny bounce up into the air. The Langton goalie had no idea where it was but the puck was swatted out of the air by the Leafs defence. The puck ended up on Overeem's stick and he had an open side of the net but his wrist shot was blocked in the mid section by a Langton player to keep the game scoreless.

A couple of minutes later, a turnover by the Express defence as they tried to break out of their own zone forced goalie Dawson Sharpe to come up with a solid glove save to keep the game tied. This generated some pressure by Langton in the Express zone and forced a faceoff. Langton kept up the pressure on Ingersoll and eventually led to tripping penalty by Kieghan Osmond.

The Express penalty kill had the best opportunities of the Langton powerplay as the Leafs were not able to generate any attacking zone time. Overreem did some good work behind the Langton net and worked his way out to the left hand side of the goalie and fired a nice wrist shot that caught the shoulder of the Leafs netminder.

Defenceman Caleb Clifford had a number of opportunities in the second as well as he was able to rush multiple times and gain the Langton zone.  But heading into the third the game was still scoreless.

In the third Langton finally managed to capitalize on an Express mistake and opened the scoring with 8:26 left in the game. This seemed to take the wind out of the Express and allowed the Leafs to score two more times in less than two minutes to put them up 3-0.  The final three minutes of the game dragged on as the Langton team couldn't seem to remember how many players they needed on the ice. During multiple stoppages they struggled to get the right number of players on the ice.
