Huntsville Tournament
From November 16th - 18th, the Ingersoll Dove Dental Peewee AE boys would play their 2nd tournament of the year in Huntsville. Heading off in the morning of Nov 16th, we would leave behind the snow storm from the night before & drove to Huntsville who had a much bigger dumping of snow. All weekend TA7 was in our thoughts & hearts.

Game 1 - Nov 16th at 2:30 vs Oro. Period 1 had few shots by either team due to the amazing back checking & shot blocking by all the players on defense. With 3:54 left, Oro would be the first to get on the board. At 1:47 #17 E. Cuthbert would take the puck, deke through the Oro defenders & put the puck in the back of the net. Period 1 ended tied 1-1.
Period 2 had Oro outshoot Ingersoll. However #1 T. Belore would flash his glove & make some amazing saves. Oro would net 2 to end the period up 3-1.
Period 3 had Ingersoll outshoot Oro. Oro was able to net their 4th of the period at 7:02. At 4:46 #17 Cuthbert took a puck that bounced off the back boards to the front of the net & slid it pas the goalie. 2 minutes later, #18 C. McNeil passed the puck to #9 N. Muller who then found #6 T. Murray who scored to pull Ingersoll within 1. #1 Belore would go to the bench for an extra attacker to try for that tying goal. Oro was able to score the empty net goal & 1 more before the period ended.
Final: 6-3 Oro

After a group dinner Friday night, our Express boys would get up early for their 2nd game of the tournament Saturday morning. They would find themselves against the host Huntsville Otters.
Period 1 - Express would stay in the Huntsville end for most of the period which limited the Otters to no shots on net. Despite peppering the Huntsville goalie with many shots throughout the first period, it wasn't until only 38 seconds left that Ingersoll was able to get on the board. #6 T. Murray had the puck behind the net & spotted #9 N. Muller out front wide open. He passed the puck & Muller scored top corner.
Period 2 was even as far as shots on net. #1 T. Belore flashed his glove many times & made many great saves throughout the period. At 8:37 Huntsville was able to tie up the game. On the very next faceoff, #5 C. Hughes tied up his man while #17 E. Cuthbert grabbed the puck & went into Huntsville end scoring top corner. Period 2 ended with Ingersoll ahead 2-1.
Period 3 again had the Express boys peppering the Huntsville goalie with many shots. At 9:05, #17 Cuthbert had the puck in the corner. He passed out front to a waiting #11 R. Condotta who made a beauty of a shot top shelf. At 3:32, on a 5 on 3, #5 Hughes would again tie up his man so #17 Cuthbert could grab the puck to score his 2nd of the game. With 2:06 left, #7 O. Clarke took a shot. #19 B. Plaquet was there to grab it & flip it up over the goalie. With 33.9 seconds left, #6 T. Murray passed the puck over to #18 C. McNeil who would net the 6th goal of the period for the Express. With 25.3 seconds left #5 Hughes won the faceoff to #11 Condotta who found #17 Cuthbert waiting who scored his 3rd goal of the game.
Final: 7-1 Express

Game 3: Nov 17th vs Lambeth
Just a couple of hours later, Ingersoll would find themselves on the ice again to face Lambeth.
Period 1 had lots of back & forth action & even number of shots by both teams. Halfway through, Lambeth was able to score first.
Period 2 had Lambeth getting lots of shots on #1 T. Belore. He was strong, flashed his glove & stood tall the entire game. Lambeth was able to get 2 more during the period.
Period 3 had Ingersoll outshoot Lambeth, but the boys just couldn't get one past their goalie. Lambeth would score 1 to end the game with a 4-0 score.

The boys had a great tournament, and lots of team bonding off the ice. Great job boys, keep it up!
