Express vs Generals
On Wed Nov 14th, our Dove Dental Peewee AE Express team made the trip to St. George for their 2nd game in as many nights.

After a short delay in start time the puck was finally dropped & the game was underway.

St. George came out flying in the first period with lots of pressure & hard shots in the first few minutes. Express Goalie #1 T. Belore came up making big saves to keep Ingersoll in the game. Ingersoll defenceman #8 A. Stratton & #14 C. Groves showed their determination by standing tall & blocking hard shots by the St. George forwards. The first period had lots of back & forth action with both goalies showing their quick reflexes in their glove hands. At 4:37 St. George would be the first to get on the board. Ingersoll would get their first good chance of the 1st shortly after. #6 T. Murray would take a stretch pass from #7 O. Clark through the neutral zone & shoot high glove side, but it would be stopped by the St. George goalie. With only 17 seconds left, St. George would get their second goal, to end the period ahead 2-0.

The second period started off much the same as the first with a lot of end to end action with both goaltenders coming up big. St. George would get their third goal of the game shortly into the period. On the ensuing faceoff, #9 N. Muller would win the battle & drop the puck back to #16 A. Patterson. He slid the puck across to #3 B. Wright who would carry the puck to center & rifle a shot deep into the corner. #19 B. Plaquet would dig out the puck & pass behind the net to #18 C. McNeil who found #9 Muller alone out front. He would fire the puck over the goalies glove, just under the cross bar to put Ingersoll on the board at 7:43. Just 30 seconds later, St George would score to pull ahead 4-1. Express would get their 2nd goal when #5 C. Hughes won the faceoff in their end. #17 E. Cuthbert grabbed the loose puck & slid it out front of the net to #11 R. Condotta who put the puck between the goalies pads bringing Ingersoll within 2. End of second, 4-2 St. George leading.

The third period was a bit slower paced coupled by some "black and white" drama that seemed to slow the game down. Ingersoll would remain focused & continue to pepper the St. George goalie. #1 Belore would be kept busy as well & worked hard to keep Ingersoll in the game. With a couple of minutes left, Belore would be pulled from the net for an extra attacker. A face off would ensue in the General's end & they would attempt to clear the puck. #12 K. Brown would block their clearing attempt along the boards. #10 L Pare grabbed the loose puck & passed to #18 McNeil who passed behind the net to #17 Cuthbert. He fired a shot from a sharp angle over the goalies shoulder to bring the Express within 1. Ingersoll would continue to get chances in the final seconds, but couldn't find the back of the net.

St. George would hang on for a 4-3 win. Our Express boys headed home to prepare for their upcoming weekend tournament in Huntsville.
