Butterworths novice played three league games in December.

. On December 4th Butterworths played Burford in Ingersoll. Butterworths were able to score 4 times and allowing only 1, this gives Butterworths a record of 6 wins and 9 losses. The very next night Butterworths traveled to Tillsonburg. Butterworths played a good game but was only able to score once and allowing 8. The score does not reflect the efforts of the whole team. December 18th Butterworths traveled to Port Dover. Butterworths played a strong game netting only one goal, Port Dover scored 9 times, giving Butterworths their 11th loss.

Butterworths went down to Dunville for the Albert Schram Novice/Atom Tournament. Butterworths played Wainfleet, Cayuga and Caledonia. They started the tournament playing Wainfleet on Saturday morning. The game went back and forth, in the final minute and half Wainfleet was able to break the tie to win the game 5 to 4. Later in the day Butterworths played Cayuga. Butterworths had a rough game. Butterworths were only able to score once, but Cayuga was able to score 5 times giving Butterworths their second loss of the tournament. On Sunday Butterworths played Caledonia. Butterworths came out flying scoring 4 times and not allowing Caledonia to score. Butterworths would end the tournament with one win and two losses. Even though the tournament did not end up the way the team wanted, the kids and the parents had a lot of fun. Special thanks goes to Coach Tyler for organizing the weekend tournament and to Lisa Young for organizing the Saturday night supper in Niagara Falls.

Butterworths ended the first half of the season at 7th place out of 13 teams.
