AYR FLAMES 2 INGERSOLL EXPRESS 0
Our YIG Tremblett’s Ingersoll Express took to the ice this past Monday taking on the Ayr Flames and looking to distinguish any thought Ayr may have of coming into the madhouse on mutual and walking away with with a victory.

From puck drop the opening frame saw both teams struggling to mount a lot offense with multiple battles at centering ice and struggling to get enough offense to provide any scoring at either end.

The pace of play picked up in the 2nd period with several solid opportunities at both ends. The Express started to step up the attack looking to take the lead with the forwards charging the net hunting for rebounds to bury but they couldn't help but come away a little snake-bitten with the game still tied up with no score.

With the 3rd period underway, Ayr were able to mount a swift attack and despite Our Eagle, Chris Hardeman’s solid goal tending, the Flames potted the 1st goal of the game and jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Not to be discouraged, Ingersoll battled hard, dug deep and made a big push to level up the score but still just couldn't  burst the bubble.

Later on in period, Ayr took advantage of a quick counter attack and put Ingersoll down by 2. The Express mounted an all hands on deck offensive in response but ultimately walked away empty handed falling to Ayr 2-0 despite out shooting them  21-15.

“Not every victory shows up on the scoreboard”

The Atom AE Tremblett’s YIG Express battled hard and while they didn’t come away on the winning side, their play, their passing, their positioning and poise showed they are  only getting better with each shift, with each great pass, with each great shot, with each save and with each drop of sweat,

Next game for the young guns will be a Sunday evening affair reigniting our highway 19 rivalry with the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. See you then!!
